Nod to the past in Iron Trust logo
United fans who pledged to join the club’s new supporters’ trust have decided on a nod to the past after voting for a logo which incorporates the club’s old unity crest.
The vote, which concluded on Friday June 28, was between five variations based on the Iron’s current crest and the “unity” badge which preceded it. The badge featured a fist gripping an iron chain, with the word “unity” transcribed beneath it.
Fans who had pledged to join the trust were asked to decide on the logo in keeping with the trust’s ethos for democracy, with all key decisions put to member votes.
The trust will have a presence at the open day / Cliff Byrne benefit match on Sunday July 29. Membership will cost £10 per adult for a season, and £20 for a family comprising two adults and unlimited children. Membership for U16s is £3.
Membership forms will be available in July, and will be at the open day.
