Sing for the Iron at Wembley
One Scunthorpe United supporter will be given the chance to sing Abide With Me on the Wembley pitch before this year’s FA Cup final.
The Iron may have lost their third-round replay to Chesterfield, but by reaching the third round they ensured one supporter will be able to take part in the Songs of Praise FA Cup Fans Choir alongside the FA Cup final Military Band.
Entries opened on Saturday at bbc.co.uk/songsofpraise, with March 7 the deadline for entries.
David Taviner, Songs of Praise executive producer said: “The chance to sing at Wembley is a dream come true for any football fan and I’m delighted that Songs of Praise are teaming up with The FA to offer this opportunity.
“The performance of Abide with Me is such an iconic moment in FA Cup final day and to be a part of that, at Wembley, in front of 90,000 people, live on BBC One would be something very special indeed.”
Songs of Praise are looking for stories that reflect your memories and passion of the Cup, with a panel of judges selecting a winner for each team.
