Trust supports Walk the 92

The Iron Trust and Scunthorpe United were delighted to welcome Portsmouth fan Scott Mclachlan to Glanford Park on Thursday, as he continues his charity walk to all 92 Football League grounds.

Mclachlan, a board member of Pompey Supporters Trust, reached the stadium at 10am and was greeted by the club’s general manager David Beeby, as well as Iron Trust interim board members John Needham, Richard Harmer and Luke Thornhill.

The club donated a signed matchball, which will be auctioned at the Trust’s AGM – to be held at Glanford Park on Thursday February 28 – with proceeds split between the Trust and Mclachlan’s chosen charity Prostate Cancer UK.

“We were delighted to welcome Scott to Glanford Park, and help such a worthy cause,” said Thornhill.

“The supporters trust at Portsmouth have worked minor miracles in their effort to keep the club afloat, and it is great to be able to offer a small gesture of support.”

Glanford Park was the 51st stadium Mclachlan reached during his seven-month walk, which he hopes will raise £92,000.

After a discussion of the latest in Pompey Supporters Trust’s attempts to take Portsmouth out of administration, Scott left to head to ground no.52 on his journey – the Keepmoat Stadium in Doncaster.
