Can you beat our penalty king?
Can you beat Scunthorpe United’s super penalty stopper Sam Slocombe? You could get the chance to succeed where other have failed if you win the top prize at the Iron Trust’s charity race night this Saturday (Feb 8).
The prize, donated by the football club, will allow one lucky person to take part in a spot-kick shootout against an Iron player of your choice with Slocombe or James Severn between the sticks.
The whole shootout will be videoed for you to keep, along with photos of the experience and a signed ball.
It will be top prize in the Scunthorpe United Promotion Chase, the final race of the evening.
Other prizes include limited edition Scunthorpe Iron Art prints and merchandise, signed SUFC match ball and shirt, assorted spirits and wine, £50 off next season’s season ticket, a meal in the Glanford Park restaurant, food vouchers and cash.
There will also be an auction of club memorabilia, as well as a last-man standing bingo game.
It promises to be an entertaining evening at Glanford Park, with more than 100 tickets already sold.
Profits from the evening will be split between the Trust, Lindsey Lodge Hospice, Scunthorpe Foodbank and Lincolnshire House.
Tickets cost £10 and include pie and pies as well as £6 worth of bets. You can buy your ticket at the Glanford Park ticket office, or online here.
Any tickets unsold on Saturday will be available from Trust Corner before the game against Chesterfield.
The race night will start a busy few days for the Trust, with SUFC chairman Peter Swann and manager Russ Wilcox due to attend the Trust’s AGM on Wednesday Feb 12.
The question and answer session is open to all Iron fans from 7.45pm, with the Trust AGM itself limited to members from 7pm.
