A real battle of the Iron today as we welcome Braintree Town to the Attis Arena. They take their Iron nickname from the Crittall Window Company who still make steel framed windows today: modern Braintree Town evolved from their Manor works team formed in 1898.
Firstly, the National Leagues 3 UP campaign is very much up and running with an online petition for fans to sign. The objective is to gain automatic promotion for three teams each season instead of the current two; one automatic and one via the play-offs. Last week games kicked off at 3.03pm in protest and the petition at the time of writing had received over 7500 signatures including mine.
The Iron Trust October player of the month award as voted by our members went to Joe Rowley; taking second place was Callum Roberts and in third spot was Tyrell Sellars-Fleming. Well done to all the lads, especially Joe who has really settled into that central midfield role.
Whilst our Hat-trick draw winning numbers for October went as follows:-1st prize £75 number 199, 2nd prize £25 number 160 and third prize £10 number 181. If you are thinking of joining now is an ideal opportunity as the December draw is a single prize of £500.
The opportunity to be nominated for election to the Trust board passed yesterday. Steve Hawes as the returning officer will, in due course, inform members of the number of nominations received and if there is to be an election in the future.
Our Share-builder joint initiative with the club which currently stands at just short of £11,000 will more than double the fans stake in their club. Thank you to all those who have donated thus far. Several supporters have rather generously donated substantial amounts and long-time supporter and Trust member Dave Scott has pledged to match any donation up to £500. We hope to reach £12,500 by the end of November. Donations can be made via our Hull & East Yorkshire Credit Union account or Go-fund-me page.
Please sign the 3UP campaign online. Also why not visit us at Trust corner to sign up for Trust membership which costs £10 for life and join the other 1200 members. Our monthly Hat-trick draw shares are £1 each with a minimum £5 per month subscription.
Up the mighty Iron.
