Chair’s programme notes for Boreham Wood fixture

Hello and good evening as we see a quick return to the Attis Arena after Saturday’s home league game v Truro City. This evening’s opponents Boreham Wood hail from North London and we welcome any travelling Wood supporters.

The Iron Trust is an independent supporter’s society with a membership approaching 1200 and we operate under the rules and regulations provided by the FSA (Football Supporters Association).

As an organisation we are required to present annually audited accounts to the FCA (Financial Conduct Authority) which is taken care of by our diligent Treasurer Mark Stockdale and Assistant Treasurer Jake Stockdale. Our accounts are audited by Sharon Howsam. Mark also runs the Hat Trick draw and is a mainstay of Trust corner which has become an important feature for the Trust. Before each home league game we set up under the north eastern floodlight at the corner of the Mortz and Britcon stands where we are able to take and answer questions from members, listen to members ideas, hand out the monthly Hat Trick draw winning prizes and sell our exclusive wares. Stocky senior transports our set up and is regularly joined by John Needham, Steve Hawes and Dave Beverley. Stocky junior always shows his face and I attend unless on night shifts.

The Iron Trust holds £10,000 worth of shares numbering 500 at £20 each. We hope to add to that grand total very soon as we are currently trying to raise £25,000 for the purchase of further shares by agreement with the club board. The Go-fund-me Iron Trust Sharebuilder and Credit Union account are the means by which to make donations (for details email us at [email protected]). The latest 100 card being run by the Trust with Carltons shirt as the winning prize was started last Saturday v Truro with the boxes are being sold for £10 and the total raised will go straight into the share builder pot.

The next Trust board meeting is to be held next Tuesday 30th September; luckily for us the rearranged Morecambe game is a week later. We meet at the Berkeley Hotel where Brian Edwards and Dave Beverley will report back on their meeting with the Iron Foundation.

As ever please enjoy the game and Up the Mighty Iron.
