Good afternoon fellow Iron fans and a warm welcome to any travelling Cornish fans making the 367-mile trek from Cornwall: a. A relatively short hop compared to the Tinners visits to Gateshead (458 miles), Carlisle (438 miles) and Hartlepool (434. miles)
Firstly, an update on Sharebuilder, the Iron Trusts collaboration with Scunthorpe United FC which gives all supporters the opportunity to buy shares in their club. Thus far the total amassed is well over £5,000 towards the £25,.000 goal. If every Trust member donated a tenner, we would raise £12,000: nearly half the total we are aiming for. Donations can be made via the Go-fund-me Iron Trust Sharebuilder page on GoFundMe or by bank transfer to Credit Union using Sort Code 08-92-50, account 6700 5844 quoting reference 30463)
The August player of the month winner went to new signing Declan Howe who arrived at the Attis Arena in the summer from near rivals Gainsborough Trinity. Declan is not a total stranger to the Iron having come through our club’s junior ranks following in the footsteps of older brother and York City captain Callum. A big thank you to all those members who take the time to vote, Steve Hawes will be sending out the September voting request very soon.
The August Hatrick draw winning numbers were as follows:-
1st prize £75 number 87
2nd prize £25 number 190
3rd prize £10 number 67
We only need a few more people joining to bolster the prize monies paid out each month: so why not sign up on-line or see us in person at Trust corner.
As a supporters group we are invited to attend the SAG (Safety Advisory Group) and subsequently attended the latest meeting on Thursday 21st August at the Attis Arena. W with the season being very new we had only a couple of minor matters to report on behalf of our members:, the first being vaping in the stadium and in general the facilities for female supporters a. Although to be fair stadium manager Martin Hopper was already aware of these issues. The next SAG meeting is pencilledpenciled in for Tuesday October 21st.
Do let us know if you have any issues for reporting.
Many members seek us out at Trust corner on a Saturday afternoon to air their views, ask questions or to buy our wares, which include badges, mugs and coasters still in the exclusive designs of Will Wharton, though when these are gone there will be no more from Will. Board member Brian Edwards has taken on the role of merchandise so keep your eye out for new lines. We still have a scarf for Kev Webster which Kkev won on one of our 100 cards, I personally have toured the Iron Bar prior to the last two home games trying to catch him, but to no avail.
Up the mighty Iron
