There’s a monthly draw for 10 months of the year with £75, £25 and £10 prizes plus a Christmas and mid-year draw each with a single £500 prize. More details are on the application form.
Seventy-five per cent of money invested in the draw is returned as prize money, with the remaining money going to the Trust and local charitable causes.
So the more participants there are, the more money is returned as prize money.
You can download the application form here (eventually we will be adding an e-application on our web site but we aren’t there yet!)
What is the Iron Trust?
The Iron Trust runs the Hat-Trick Draw to raise funds for both the Trust and good causes in the North Lincolnshire area. The Trust is a community benefit society which was created to represent Scunthorpe United fans, seeking to maintain dialogue with SUFC on behalf of its members, encourage the best possible community relations and build an ownership stake in the football club through purchase of shares.
The Trust owns £10,000 worth of shares in SUFC, and has contributed to SUFC events such as the Save Our Steel Day where our suggestions included using steelworkers’ children as mascots and the wall of light show of support. We have raised thousands of pounds in funds for Scunthorpe Foodbank, Lindsey Lodge Hospice and Lincolnshire House. If you are not already a member you can find out more or join up online at http:// www.theirontrust.com/individual-membership.
The Hat-Trick Draw is run under the auspices of the Scunthorpe United Supporters Society (Iron Trust), which is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. The Society is registered with the local authority and is licensed under the Gambling Act 2005. Seventy-five per cent of money invested in the draw is returned as prize money, with the remaining money going to the Trust and local charitable causes.
