Hi everyone as we gather at the Attis Arena for a DAZN televised evening kick off. A warm welcome to travelling Lambs fans choosing to watch the live version.
The Iron Trust share builder scheme was due to end at the end of November and has seen the Trust hand over £12,000 to the club for share purchase. A massive thank you to all members and supporters who donated. This sum has now more than doubled Trust fan shareholding in the club to a total of £22,000 which equates to 1100 shares at £20 each. In collaboration with SUFC and on the back of the scheme’s success both the club and the Trust have agreed to extend the scheme through to January.
The Trust board annual nomination process has passed without major drama: three seats were up for election, the Chairs by rotation as well as those of Susan Godfrey and John Needham who are both standing down at our AGM in February. Three nominations were received from Tony Gosling, co-opted member Brian Edwards and Emily Thompson. These nominations require ratification by the AGM. We can also have up to five co-opted members. Emily has been co-opted in an interim arrangement until February.
The November player of the month vote notification was sent out after the Altrincham game and closes next Friday. The November Hat-trick draw winners were: – £75 number 169, £25 number 189 and £10 number 84. Iron Trust membership has now reached 1207 as we push towards our 1250 target.
The latest board meeting, held at the Berkeley Hotel, saw several positive advances for the Trust. Assistant Treasurer Jake Stockdale now has access to all the Trust accounts including the Hull and East Yorkshire Credit Union as does Treasurer Mark Stockdale. Matt Ellis has agreed to put his colossal social media expertise to good use and put together a paper on how we could develop our social media channels in the future and whilst Iron Bru has been a natural partner we wish to broaden that out to include Iron Hour too.
A massive thank you to Iron fans from the Royal British Legion Scunthorpe Branch for supporting the Poppy Appeal. Local coordinator Jon Jones informed the Iron Trust that over £1000 was raised by the bucket collection at the Yeovil game. A further thank you went out to Earl Priestly who raised £525 from his SUFC poppy badges. Locally £65000 was raised in total this year.
Please drop in to see us at Trust corner for those Christmas stocking fillers from our exclusive range of mugs, coasters, Christmas cards etc. As this is our last home league game prior to Christmas on behalf of the Iron Trust may I extend festive greetings to all Iron fans all over the world. Merry Christmas.
Up the mighty Iron
