A stated aim of the Iron Trust is to secure shares in SUFC.

The Iron Trust aim to have a working relationship with the club where we can be an honest friend, providing a true supporters voice to senior management at the club.

Our main aim is to ensure supporters are always at the forefront of the club, and the best way to do that is to be there to offer an opinion when decisions are being made.

A long-term aim is to own a block of shares where having a supporter director is possible”

Unfortunately, Mr Swann has not been prepared to allow the sale of shares to the Iron Trust and maintains his position as majority shareholder.

The creation of a Fan-elected Director on the SUFC Board is of course a major step in the right direction.

The club, hopefully, are to experience an ownership change in the near future although despite claims of various interested parties, it hasn’t happened and nor are we sure when it will happen. Today, it can be seen that there are many football clubs where supporters enjoy engagement with the main board and the ability to influence decisions is strengthened by their shareholding.

The Iron Trust needs to be in the best position possible for presenting new owners with a proposal to increase the Iron Trust shareholding and with that in mind we wish to focus supports on helping to raise funds and without trying very hard and without it costing you a penny.
