We invited Trust members to let us know if they have made the trip to the USA for the World Cup. Trust members and SULESC members Harry Theaker and his dad Andy are on the “full tour” and Harry sent us this message (reproduced with their permission);
In answer to your world cup email. Me and my old man, Andy Theaker, have been over at the world cup, we have been saving up for 10 years to get here! We arrived on 10th June in New York! We then drove down to Dallas for the first game, then drove back up to Boston for the next, then drove to New York for the last group game, before driving down to Atlanta for the first Knockout, flew down to Mexico for R16 and flew into Miami ready for the quarters tomorrow. We will be going to every game that England get through to! It’s coming home #UTI
The map shows each leg of the journey as flights but as you can read they did an awful lot of driving. A quick google search says 6,500 miles of travel not counting the transatlantic journeys.
